Stay in the city or suburbs with this baby and with just occasional trips outside and you will be fine. Your passenger will LOVE the comfort of the huge wide gel seat and the great suspension. Just don´t try to pass any tractor trailers riding 2 up also hauling stuff because it´s risky business: this is one heavy scooter and with the automatic transmission you will be sweating it. On country roads with little traffic it will be very pleasant. On busy highways not so much. | ||||||
Really what I hated was putting it on the center stand, so heavy that unless you get the timing just right, you will need a hand to get this done. Europe is full of maxi scooters like this, it`s great all you can store under the cavernous seat. Not a good choice for Mexican toll roads. Also the BMW specialist made it clear that maintenance costs more than BMW motorcycles because you have to remove all those body panels to gain access. It had some grunt and could cruise especially with a solo rider and nicely. What I missed was shifting gears and the long wheelbase makes this not too agile. All reasons I traded it in after only a few months. Yet I have to say used properly maybe as a commuter it would serve well but if you ride for pleasure pick something else. |
