Having left my BMW 1200 vs in the UK having ridden motorbikes for 44 years I missed having having one. I came across my Aprilia having had 1 owner and only 11.000 mms with history. I thought it would ´do´, but it´s proved many times, it´s all you need on a small island with twisty roads. My 1200 wouldn´t have been as much fun.

My Aprilia has been an excellent companion on my travels, the Engine is more than enough even though it´s only a 50hp. The highest speed limit on the island is 120kph and it does that easily with more to spare for quick overtakes.

In the 6 years of having the bike, we´ve done over 60.000 kms and the only problems I´ve had are a wire breaking off the coil (easily mended at home) and a holed radiator, a brand new one purchased from Italy and fitted for €340, second hand ones were €240+.

The Aprilia tank transfers have suffered in the sun but the paintwork is still very good especially in the hot sun that is here for over 300 days per year where my bike is parked outside the property.

It is regularly serviced and checked over every 8000 km. The spoked wheels are still in very good condition and the spokes are still true dispite a lot of off roading on a volcanic landscape. I cannot praise the bike enough. I hope this review helps you and puts your mind at ease about owning and using one...
