My personal opinion on my 2002 yz85. The YZ85 is a great bike, because it is small, good suspension for a lighter person than me. Good brakes, the pipe is decently strong, but you can lose bolts really easily without Loctite. OEM plastics crack easily. Easy to service and cheap parts.

All 2002-2015 parts work for the bike except crankcases and major stuff like that. Recommend 2015 plastics, looks better. With a boyesen power wing and reeds this champ is super fast. Maybe too fast for a starter bike because when you hit the power band (where the gas and air mixture are perfect and it makes the most power) the bike gets super fast and crazy.

This will clear any triple and jump and log. If you put money into this bike and got new swing-arm and fork to get big wheel kit. This bike can grow with you when you get big wheel kit and big bore it to 112cc this bike is amazing and even though I`m 160 lbs its fast. But it needs new springs if heavy weight.
