Clutch problems

I sure hope someone out there can help me. I have a 1977 Yamaha XS750 Triple, and I have done everything I can think of to repair the clutch that was in it when I bought it this winter. The clutch began slipping, and after it warmed up, it broke loose. After that, my top speed was 20 mph. No power. I ordered an after market clutch and installed it myself only to find that it was too thick and wouldn´t disengage. I have tried everything I know to remedy this, and decided to just take it to a shop to be fixed, but all of the shops in western Nebraska and eastern Iowa won´t touch a bike older than 1985. Has anyone had an experience similar to this? or can anyone suggest a mechanic that will help? All replys are welcome. Thank you. Golden
