RE: starting problems

I bought a 99 intruder 4 months ago with 32000 miles and have put an additional 3500 so far. The only time I have had any problems with starting it have been due to the decomp valve mentioned earlier. You have to rock the bike backwards a little bit to free up the compression on the cylinder. Also, I have heard that the electrical system on the Intruder is poorly engineered and overtaxed to begin with. If you add anything to it you overburden it pretty quick. There is a fairly simple fix if you have some mechanical aptitude and aren´t afraid to try. You´ll find it and lots of other very useful stuff for our bikes at www.moccsplace.com. I just can´t say enough about this site and finding it has been the best thing I could hoped for.
