Well Peter I´ll be 58 this week and I bought my first motorcycle, a Triumph Thruxton, based soley on positive reviews, unique looks, and feeling right at home as I sat on the bike at the Manayunk Triumph dealership in Philadelphia, Pa. The salesman stated, "Some people find this bike a little uncomfortable due to the handlebars and position." Coming from years of cycling, a sport that has written the book on discomfort, I found the feel of the Thruxton reassuringly comfortable given its similarity to the cycling position. My friend drove the bike to his house and the next day I had my first lesson. Within a couple days I was on the road with this great bike and feel more and more comfortable every day. I think the Thruxton will be my "first bike" for a long time to come. I´m not even sure I´ll change the pipes. This bike is no clapped out sewing machine. The sound is just all business. Kind of like a disturbed beehive. Safe motoring to you.
