I have an ´08 with a ´16 stock GET. My old carb is shot, so I put a PZ16 slide carb on it. Couldn´t get a consistent idle, and I could open the air screw all the way up with no effect. Swapped the stock 35 slow jet for a 38, and solved that problem, now the air/fuel screw responds like it should. Took it on the highway, it would bog slightly and lose power at full throttle. Swapped the 75 main for a 78 and cured that problem. Now my only issue is that it sometimes sputters and wants to die at midrange, say 5000-6000 rpm. If I back off a bit, or give it more throttle, it smooths right out. My first thought was that the needle clip needed to be adjusted toward the rich side, but when I checked the spark plug, it looks very rich. I adjusted the needle one notch toward lean, but haven´t had a chance to test it yet. I know that if I go down on jet sizes, it will hurt performance. I´m fairly new to slide-type carbs, I would greatly appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!
