Just discovered a Buell 2005XB12R in my garage -seems my son abandoned it four years ago and it has just sat there without any use. A competent friend figured out it had a burnt out relay so that was fixed, and after much research I got a replacement kickstand that was broken so that is fixed, and I emptied out the gas tank and refilled it with new gas and we changed the oil. And I took it cautiously for a few rides around the block. The steering in turns is very hard and not very responsive and it looks like the alignment of front tire with handlebars and fairing and body is a little off -though noticeable when riding and just sitting on it. riding it. I ´ve been riding mcs for 50 years but am not mechanical. The bike seems like a great bike -but after 4 years of leaning up against a wall -I´m wondering g if that is why it is so stiff and out of alignment. also what is my next move -seems like there are not many people competent enough to work on these old buells. I would like to keep it. as I have a road king and have been riding hds for 40 years and also had early Hondas and a great 77Kawasaki 1000; I´m a usmc nam vet -so thought maybe I could connect with someone from that era as well as nowadays who could give me some suggestions and direction. I have sent away for a serive manual, owners manual, and a parts manual. But I know there is a great deal of common sense out there I am missing -so thought I would try a forum. thanks john
