I am in my 69th. year, My 03 XJR has 343,000 km. on the clock. . . I live 160 Kms. from Melbourne ( that´s Victoria not Florida) . . know very little about computers, but my child bride checks on me now and again. . . Done the modifications I have heard of, Inlet rubbers, Air Box, 4 into 1 exhaust, still have the original clutch, Heads never been off, replace a couple of shims now and again. Got a spin on oil filter from Randy at RPM use a Drift MF79 as it has a nut welded on and the Blue color matches the bike. . . . Last service We put all the shims right and discovered the front cam-chain guide was cracking up and had to wait for the part, so lets pull the carbies down, What could possibly go wrong. . .We work on the theory of. . IF IT,S NOT BROKEN LETS PULL IT APART AND FIND OUT WHY. . What I´m after is a website or someone who knows how to access information about Black Top carbs BS 37 . . because the information from the sites I find are all about BS 36 Silver Tops and jet sizes do not relate. . . My Main Jet is 107.5 . . The Needle is lifted one notch . .Pilot Jet is 15 . I have done a plug chop at 8,000 revs in 4th. gear, 180 km/hr (where I seldom go) . . . 4,000 revs in top gear which is where I mostly ride 100 km/hr. i´m happy with that, but, round town between 2,ooo and 3,000 it´s a bit Boggy and the base ring gets sooty . If anyone can let me know float height I´ll have a base to work off. . Cheers Fourex
