Thats very debatable for 2 reasons, in 85 Harley regained control of the factory from AMF and retooled the factory and started producing the Evolution Motor, While they did build many of the Shovelheads as they picture here on the site, they also produced a much rarer 85 FXEF with the 4 speed chain drive transmission Like the shovelhead but with the new Evolution Motor instead. I´ve been told they only made somewhere between 800 and 1000 of that particular model, and if youre a Shovelhead fan you might easily be fool, because even the frame, tanks, oil res. & battery box was the same. Was also the last of the chain drive Harley, because the same year they began building and selling belt drive bikes, such as the 85 FXWG, which was also an EVO
