Most seasoned riders will shut off the gas when the bike is stopped, because...IF the needle and seat with float action DO NOT SHUT OFF THE GAS completely, you will have a flooded carb and possibly gas will leak into the cylinders and then into the oil sump and thin the oil. This will cause premature wear do to lack of lubrication. This will result in a major repair bill. So....the most simple thing to do is........shut off engine...shut off gas. This will avoid all of the above bad symptoms.
