I am currently having a cutting out problem with my 1993 1200 Sporster. it is clean and tidy and in good condition. It starts and runs on the sidestand for awhile, like 15-20 seconds then cuts out. Sometimes runs for 4-5 miles but then cuts out again leaving me stranded. After cutting out, there is no spark, but haven´t been able to locate an electrical fault in the wiring. Carb has been cleaned and jets cleared as rubber bits were found in float chamber from a corroded fuel pipe. A different working coil from another machine doesn´t cure the problem. Fault persists and dealer who was servicing the bike is stumped! Has anyone had a similar experience or can suggest a solution please? Duncan.
