high altitude carberator adjustments

ok, I got my bike from Tourque, a dealer in colorado springs, who got it from an auction down in texas. now the altitude difference between colorado springs and texas is pretty big and i´m pretty sure trhat my carberator needs to be adjusted, and it smells and seem´s like it´s running pretty "rich". My gas milleage is also down from where it should be which just leads me back to the carberator. Everything else is perfect with the bike I was just wondering if anyone had an idea of how I need to adjust my carberator.
