Hi VFRers. I just bought a 97 VFR with 30k miles. Great shape. I drove it 1500 miles from where i bought it down to my home in two consecutive days non-stop. Great bike, comfy, fast and smooth. It gave no problems whatsoever. This was two weeks ago and it al went fine til today. This afternoon I stopped the bike, switched it off and when I tried to stsrt it 15 mins. later, it made a loud CLICK when i pushed the starter button and I couldnt get it to go anymore. I bumpstarted it, but it seemed to run in only two cilinders. I used another battery to start it and it started and ran, but I noticed that the speedo moved up to like 55 mph when I reved up the engine to like 5000 rpms, bike standing still of course. Otherwise it seemed to run fine. I took the battery out and upon trying to charge it, i noticed that it held absolutely no charge at all. Completely dead. The bike has no modifications. Anybody know what might be happening?
