I have recently picked up a 75 DT 250. It had been sitting for a long time and with little effort I got it running. It ran fine for a short time then seemed to just loose spark. I removed the flywheel and then the plate containing the points too clean any corrosion than may have been causing that problem. I reassembled everything and reset the timing. The bike started right up and ran good. I road it for a short time and it developed a knock when I let off the gas. It only does it when the bike is completely warmed up and there is no sign of a noise until that point. Could it be timing, worn bearings, piston? I have no idea, anyone have any suggestions?
