Thank you for this service. I purchased a Yamaha RD 200 new in 1975, rode it for a few years and put it away until now. We have cleaned the carbs and the tank and installed new plugs and feel it would fire if we conected the new battery correctly. Unfortunately, I removed the old battery and the two terminal wires years ago and we arenĀ“t sure exactly where to connect new wires. I think the negative goes to a ground screw under the seat and the hot wire may go to the bottom terminal [along with a second wire] on the voltage regulator. We worry about misconnecting them and burning something out. Would someone please look at their RD 200 and call me at 315-344-2427 or email me with this information? Secondly, do you need a battery in place to have spark at the plugs if you turn it over with the kick starter ? Resspectfully. Lowell Mc Allister |
