Well, it is a combination of a few things:

1) because of the gearing of the bike, instead of being in a lower, happy RPM on the highway, it is up around 6 and 7 in the 60s and 70s. This creates a lot of vibration on the pegs and handlebars. In the 50s this bike is totally fine.

2) Well, face it - 32 years old means some wobble here and there. Depending entirely on how much use and abuse your bike has seen, it can be pretty squirrely at higher speed. Hard to tell until you try it.

I love mine, but only commute about half an hour on 40-65 zones - the 65 zones are a little rough, but with good gloves/boots I´ve been fine.
