Hi Robert, A stock 1974 S3 tested into a slight headwind achieved the following - no debate, this is fact ! 0-30mph = 3.3 secs 0-60mph = 6.4 secs 0-90mph = 14.0 secs Standing start one quarter mile = 14.10 secs @ 91.0 mph. Top speed on a restricted straight = 103.3 mph. DEVASTATINGLY FAST FOR A MERE 400 IN 1974. To see 110 on the clocks was an easy achievement. The S3`s in fact had a far better top end speed than the admired RD 400 Yamaha. The latter however would pass at fuel stops!! I have much detailed info. on brake specs so clarification of your exact needs would be useful, however - Shoe lining thickness = 5mm. Service limit 2mm. Shoe spring length = 56mm. Service limit = 59mm. Front disc thickness = 7mm. Service limit 5.5mm. Disc runout = 0mm. Service limit = 0.3mm. I hope all this helps, Very best regards, Dave. |
