Hey Bill, I purchased my sportster last august and I enjoy it. I had to do a few minor improvements to it. I purchased the bike with only 8800 miles and have put 4k on since. My bike has the 1200 conversion kit(done a few years back) for a little more power. Spring time this year, I put new plugs and filter which really improved its performance. I had to put an o-ring chain and new sprockets, due to the old sprockets were wore down and I was constantly tightening the chain almost every week. This procedure costed around $500. My best word of advice if you have a chain drive, check your chain periodically. If the sprockets are in good condition, you should check them approximately every 500 miles, or on how hard you ride the bike. This is also my first harley and with all of the after market parts that this one has, it looks more like a low rider. My uncle has an 86 low rider and when our bikes are sitting side by side, from a distance they look identical. Enjoy your ride. Mike Mitchell |
