I just bought a 1991 HD sportster, a real clean bike for its age, and only 7K miles.

I noticed that the front fork or steering is real stiff. How is the adjustment made to loosen this?

I noticed there is a big bolt at the top of the bearing head set (bicycle term). Is this where the tightness is set?
