Hi, I´m after some advice. Have just purchased a near scrapper to resurect to former glory, and I´m a little confused!
As this was my first ever real bike I couldn´t resist trying to save this neglected piece of stroker history - good start?
Here´s the rub, the bike is registered 1975 but I´m sure its a 74 - rubber cuffs to the forks - a give away? However this is where it all gets a little difficult as I´m trying to assess if the bike is made up form a mixture of pre & post 74 bits.
The log book lists separate frame & engine (no surprise for bike of its age I suppose but when I look at all the different pictures none of them seem to run true. The paint job is listed as Red / White on the V5 (at the moment its Dulux sky blue - hand painted of course)I´ve only ever seen blue - is there anywhere I can obtain the true paint scheme from, paint numbers etc?
I´m waiting for my trusty Haynes manual to arrive so I can get to work with confidence but any guidance to the best source of spares etc (already sussed ebay) would be greatly appreciated
Cheers
Mark
