I would have to say to replace your clutch plates first. I somewhat adjust my clutch to the book. The book says to screw the adjustment screw in two turns. Then take all of the slack out of the cable with the barel screw, then back off the scerw so you have an 1/8 inch of play in your lever. What I do is turn the screw in two turns, then take all of the slack out of the cable. Back off the screw untill it is compleatly free of the outer plate, then back in untill it hits the outer plate. Finaly adjust your barel screw so you have that 1/8 inch of play in your lever. You should also check your oil level in the case. If it is low or high it could so that too. put a 2x4 under the kickstand to bring the bike more level. pull out the plug out that is in the case that is by the foot peg. pull out the fill plug and add the oil untill it starts to come out of the plug that is by the foot peg. that is it correct amount of oil that should be in the case.
