red goes from the (B+) on the regulator to the switch & the + side of the battery green goes from the (DF) on the regulator to the field on the generator (F) tan goes from the (D+) on the regulator to the armature on the generator (A)and to the Gen. light indicator. Point gap should be 0.020 Plug gap should br 0.025-0.030 The only reason for the gen to cause it to miss is if you were running off of the battery and the charge ran low so you were not getting enough juice to the points. If it starts and runs smooth eith a full charge on the bat, then yess the gen not charging could be a problem. Check the points and the timing Timing advanced 40 deg btdc Timing retarded 10 deg btdc Send me your e-mail address and I´ll send you a wiring diagram |
