if your marks are not lined up then your cam chain is probably not adjusted properly on the cam sprocket or your cam chain adjuster may not be functioning. before you check these things though, make sure you are rotating the crankshaft Counterclockwise and make sure you have rotated the crank at least 2 full rotations and stop with the left cylinder at top dead center with both the intake and exhaust valves in the full closed position.
