1971 Honda CB 350 battery not staying charged |

Hi there. I have a 1971 CB 350 that has been stored for three years. I just got a new battery and rode it fine for about 7 miles. Then the battery died, and I had to kick start it to get it to drive. Even with the kick start, after about 7 miles, it lugs out. I try the horn, and it´s just BARELY sounding. COuld this be an altenator problem? I know after 3 years I should get the carbs cleaned and points checked. I have an appointment. But just wanted to see if I can narrow down the problem before I take it in. Again, battery is brand new, but dies out after 7 miles, then I have to kick start it. Even then, the bike seems to die after another 7 miles, and I have to kick start it again, Thanks in advance!! |
