blow out cobwebs

I recently purchased a RGV250P which had been sitting for 10 months or so. It had a definite powerband area where things really happened. I recently took it for a bit of a hard run through some winding roads and on returning to city traffic noticed that the engine note sounded different and the bike now pulls away bettter from low revs. The gear shifting has reduced and corner exits are easier and smoother. I feel that I may have blown the cobwebs out of the bike .
