Today I took possession of and dtrovemy new Pegasus 150 home. I purchased it at the Honda/Yamaha of Knoxville, Tennessee. I purchased and they installed a Deltran battery tender junior jumper cable to the battery. The connection socket was wire wrapped to my side stand bracket where it will be out of harm´s way but secure. I was advised by the salesman that my battery will last twice as long by being fully charged most of the time. I also purchased a rain suit by Frogg Togg ($44.96) and Joe Rocket biker´s jacket style 08149JR Phoenix Protector EN 1621-1 Turtle. ($134.90). THe salesman suggested that often seen advice about break-in procedures are of little value. He advised returning the scooter at 300 miles for its first oil change. My ride home of 20 miles was performed at speeds between 20 and 45 mph on a day with outside temperature of 40 degrees. The Pegasus has been perfect so far. It accelerated with a reassuring eagerness and the two disc brakes worked smoothly, with a solid feel. I noted that the rear storage box cover seemed to resist being locked securely at first. After a more careful inspection I determined that I was not actually making the latch grab the hook. Application of some 3 in One oil to the pivot and white grease to the contact point it seem to be more pleased to catch solidly. I intend to continue to report my experiences and at some point gas mileage. I plan to use the Pegasus in my small home town 90% of the time. Trips further afield will wait for spring and more experience on my part. This is my first powered two wheel vehicle. I am 73 years old. I am looking forward to hearing reports from other owners.
