Check out "http://www.elscom.com/Sprint/tracetech.htm" - Just read his Web page and he has conducted a few good mods, including new springs.
Personally, I get on with the soft front end. It does dive a bit under hard braking (I tend to do a lot of that), but I´ve never had it out of control / serious enough to be concerned over.
If you want confirmation about what a good solid Bike you have, see
"http://www.allmoto.com.au/triumphsprint1994.html" - Paul Wilton certainly has put some miles on his! (My speedo cable cost £30 (US$45) and I fitted it myself in 10 mins).
Good luck.
