The manual for 1995 VN1500c says that Engine oil: Grade: SE, SF or SG class Viscocity: SAE 10W40. 10W50, 20W40, or 20W50 Capacity: 2.5 litres (2.6 US qt) Without oil filter change 2.7 litres (2.9 US qt) When oil filter is changed 3.5 litres (3.7 US qt) When engine is completely dry So I would use 2.7 litres of 10W40 oil and change the oil filter too. The oil grade/class should be something, that doesn´t had any traction lessening ingredients or should have some additional traction ingredients. The sales clerk should answer that. With this bike that has wet sump clutch, it is important to choose grade and viscocity correctly or clutch might work poorly and transmission works poorly because of that. Sorry for my bad english, but hope this helps :-) |
