i have done exactly the thing you want to do. i.e. streetfighter, no need to change the forks, get a front guard off a ninja (green one) obviously you need to paint it. looks and fits great. i fitted an instrument cluster from a suzuki bandit, had to fabricate a bracket.some off the shelf round crome headlights. i got some industrial vacuum hose to run from the frame into a couple of drilled out coffee mugs ( the stainlesss ones from the services)for the ram air intake(also hid some tiny indicators inside the mugs), cut the lower part of the fairing to suit the new look.
I did all this after smashing up the front.
