I guess the question I´d ask you is have you ever ridden any motorcycle in the past? I´d find someone, or maybe do test rides on bikes before you figure it out.
I want to say the 800 would be a good bike for you, but bikes need to fit the rider´s style and ability.
I´ll say I have had no problems with riding my VN800A.
