You said “Harley Mechanics just replace things.” I got news for you Most shops is that way. I bought a 1980 Gold Wing. When it went in to the shop I paid! I started asking for the old parts back. I got parts some times that was not mine. I almost quit going to shops. I bought a shop manual and a complete set of tools. Saved a lot of money after that. Just bought a 1992 Ultra Classic. Got tired of breaking down on a run and could NOT get parts!
