´73 Tiger 750 Gas type and Octane rating

I just bought a 1973 Tiger 750, but can find no reference in the shop manuals I bought as to wether it takes unleaded gas or if I need to use a lead substitute additive. One manual also states that I need to use a minimun of 97 Octane. Is this Octane rating correct??
