My 95 vfr with 16.5k miles on it suddenly began to drain it battery while riding last year and left me stranded. once home the battery recharged and seemed to run fine for several weeks. I checked the voltage with a meter beginning at the starter and working back as the clomer manual suggests. I also had a load test placed on the battery. It failed so I changed the battery. I ran the bike all fall with no problems. It sat all winter then restarted without a hitch. after aprox 1000 miles the bike again stranded me under the same conditions. The battery will take a charge but losses it while in use. Can not seem to find a loss in current or drop in voltage. I would appreciate hearing from any one with suggestions or familiarity with similar trouble. Trying to avoid a 1000 dollar dealer bill. Thanks, Gene in CT |
