how do i install a tach on my 72 sportster?

i just got a 72 sportster and it has no gauges at all and i want to put a tach on it for starters, but dont know what kind it needs or where to hook it up at. and i need to insttall a spedometer later on to if anyone knows about how to put one in and what kind i need.
