I love my triple

I bought my S2 in 1974from a friend who bought it in Japan and brought it home in the ASROC magazine of the destroyer we were serving aboard. It was winter in Washington state and the weather was miserable. So I tore it COMPLETELY apart and rebuilt it into a cafe racer style. Denco chambers, removed the air box and installed K&N filters, Barnett clutch. When our ship moved to Hawaii, I road raced it at Hawaii International Raceway. Most fun I ever had with my pants on (actually 2 pair of pants as the rule was leathers or 2 pair of jeans). When we deployed to the western Pacific I shipped it to San Fransisco. I Got out of the Navy in 76 and picked it up with the help of my brother and took it to his place, in Auburn Ca, to fix it from sitting in the open for 6 mo. It took a 3 day ride to get home (central Az). Great fun, I´ll never forget. In late 78 I met my future wife and the triple developed a leaky left crankseal so I parked it. I always kept it inside, couldn´t let it go. Over the years parts dissappeared, but every time I looked at it I remembered how much fun it was to ride. In the middle of this year a friend and I were talking bikes and he mentioned a 73 S2 that he had. I asked what he would want for it and he said "haul it off". i did and now "Ol Hoss" is runnng again. I can´t run the Denco chambers anymore (TOO loud). It runs GREAT and I have people ask me about it often. And to Wally, you can also time these with a timing light. Hook the light to the plug and set the idle a bit high so it´s stable. Tweek the timing till the mars line up.
