I bought a used 72 H2 in 74 as my first street bike. It was awesome on the back wheel. I once passed a car in the subway under the railroad tracks on the back wheel, that is pullout and pull in. Many times I would accelerate away from a light and be told later that it was nice long wheelie. I wouldnt realize it but the front wheel was 2to 4 in of the ground all the way through 1rst. Slam the throttle in town and it was a rear tire smoke show with the front end destroying the law of gravity. Drag bars were a must! I put 12000 miles on the bike in 6yrs and changed the back tire once or twin every year (5 months of riding in summer)and only changed the front tire once. I would rate this bike 10 in thrills per second and a 10 in potential for death. I lost a friend on a H2. I bought a 6cy Honda in 79 and never rode the H2 again. The Honda was faster, smoother more comfortable way more reliable and better everywhere except for the thrill. I really miss that H2. But having played Russian roulette for 6 yrs and lived to brag about is priceless.
