Is the gear shifter height adjustable?

I purchased a 1971 CB 350 on Sunday (yesterday) and am excited to get started riding it. When I took it out for my first test-drive, I noticed the gear shifter is set so low I can barely get my foot under it- even with cowboy boots. Is it possible/easy to adjust the height of the lever? I don´t want to start tinkering before I know I won´t mess anything up. Thanks.
