I ran my CD 175 on unleadded for a few years , but eventually the rings cracked up , I cant say for sure it was a result of the unleaded, but now I regret using it .. Funny enough the bike ran with the cracked rings (single piece oil Scrapers) and no damage to the barrels..
Although it still runs well with new rings and I can see any obvious damage , it just doesn’t seem to run as sweet .. (not that any Noddy ever built ran sweet) .. I would err on the side of caution and use additive if you can get it ..
