900 or 1000 cc?

I have a 71 Harley Davidson sportster. When I bought it, I was told it is 900 cc. I listed it on ebay to sell and had another ebay member tell me that from the casing shown in the picture, my bike is 1000 cc. Can someone tell me how I can confirm this?
