I paid about $800.00 for my 1970 Kawasaki 500 in 1972 and I raced a lot of cars and motorcycles and beat them. The electronic ignition module burnt up on mine but I was able to make a new circuit board and replaced all of the fried components. I epoxied the module closed after repairing it. The center gap sparkplugs would spark when the plug was dipped in oil because there was sufficent voltage. I put about 24,000 miles and I replaced the rear tire twice, the chain twice, the clutch pack assembly twice and the kick starter once. I still remember the intake sound when the throttle was twisted and 3 trails of smoke behind the bike on a still day. That motorcycle was an eye opener when the front wheel lifted if one powershifted too fast and wasn´t sitting far enough foreward on the seat. those were the days
