My wife and I have a 1970 R 60/5 that needs a lot of help. It´s not currently running and has a problem of losing the battery charge when it is. Our mechanic says it will take a thousand bucks just to make it road worthy. I would be willing to put a few thousand into it, if I thought we could bring the value up enough to sell it or keep it. My question - is this particular model worth it? In the 12 years that we´ve had it, it has always had electrical and battery charge issues and it leaks some oil. I´m sure the engine will need work as well. I would rather have one more dependable, but still an older BMW. Is this model a money hole or worth resurrecting? I obviously know nothing. Thanks.
