1970 Firebird, a few years ago I bought 2 1970 firebirds from the USA one I restored and sold the other I am currently restoring, I havn´t actually come across any other ´70 models here in Australia, with their particular tank shape. I did a roller bearing conversion on the first one which comprises a big needle roller on the timing side and a small ballrace in a plate bolted outside of the alternator to control end float. I also fitted a 21t front sprocket, Otherwise it was pretty much standard, I registered and rode it on the road for a while and it performed very well, I am of the opinion that its high level pipes give it better power than the Lightning, it was an easy starting sweet running reliable machine.
