Bought new in Canberra in 1970, Probably the best handling bike I´ve ever ridden in 30 years of riding. Quality control worse than any Italian bike ever built. It looked wonderful until everything fell to bits just out of warranty. Bits fell off, the paint flaked and the "electrics" (6 volt - horrible) died. Don´t let this deter you if you find a good one. The engine is good - lots of power for a 30 year old 250 single and basically reliable (if hard to start). You just need to check ALL the nuts & bolts daily - the vibration loosens them quickly although it is not too bad for the rider. Night riding is out - those lights! All in all though, there´s not another bike (apart from a good 450 Desmo) that I´d rather thrash through the twisty bits.
