Hi all.
I needed a commuter bike (my restored ´76 Kwaka Z1000 required a step back from the daily mail run) that i could have fun on in the weekend and tour on. After reading old mags and online reviews I narrowed down a handful and the F650 was the first to become available in my area.
I have only had the sexy beast two weeks and have loved every minute on it, it devours the tarmac and surprises the hell out of trail riders on the dirt and metal tracks running alongside the Waimakariri (largest braided river in the South Island, New Zealand). Mind you it surprised the hell out of me on a few of the slower sections when an unusual whirring suddenly kicked in making me think i had pushed it a bit far. Having only ridden air cooled bikes before I didn´t immediately recognise the sound of a radiator fan! Which brings me to a question, obviously i´m not the sharpest knife in the rack, but i´ve looked hard, and damned if i can find any sort of gauge or window which lets me keep track of coolant level? So i jump on the net and google for an owners manual, download a complete copy and discover its in German. Pleasantly suitable but beyond my talents...
Repeated attempts have resulted in nothing but frustration, even pages that supposedly only have advice on day to day maintenance lead to nothing more than commercial booksellers or error messages. I´m all for superiority but someone please tell me English hasn´t surrendered to Deutsch efficiency as far as information flow on the www goes?!
Where can i download the info i need to look after my bike?
From what i´ve experienced so far it´s worth looking after.
Loving it.
