Trophy 250 won´t run |

I´m trying to get a newly purchased 1970 Trophy 250 going so that we can get it titled. The previous owner could only supply a title assigned to him with his name crossed out (=void). We have a spark with the plug out. I inspected and gapped the points to .015, locked the advance counterclockwise (using a washer with the cam turned ccw), set the timing so the points were just opening when the pointer (on alternator) was lined up with mark. When I do this I have to disconnect the wire to the points or else I never get an open reading from the C point spring to ground. Compression tests at about 90-95. We have cleaned and rebuilt the carb (seemed like molasses in the bowl) and tank. New gas lines. My thumb doesn´t get wet over the plug hole when I kick it. Any suggestions??? |
