The different V-Maxes are: 97 hp - mainly Maxes distributed to Japan and are now second hand imported to South Africa and sold wrongly as late model Maxes. These bikes have no V-Boost.
140 hp - ~´89 models Californian
143 hp - ´90~ some American models
145 hp - American,Californian and Canadian models
Usually, one can distinguish the different models by the engine and chassis number, aswell as the different factory upgradings through the years.
