Handlebar clocks/thermometers

I want to get a clock and thermometer for my bike, but can´t find the specs on my handlebar dimensions, although I can go measure it - I wonder if there is somewhere besides the $60 service manual that would have information like that? How about which mounts to use - will the stick-on ones really last? Besides the fact that I´m not sure where to stick it (windshield?) since tank mount means looking down pretty far. Thanks!
