I´m 165cm 70kg and ride the 20kg heavier Yamaha FZ 750. I´m also not a weight lifter. I have noticed that if you want to ride a bike that you know is heavy you should treat it that way knowingly. Start off by using all the muscles you´ve got when you sit down on the bike and balance it, when you come down to a stop with it and when you have to push it. You will automatically find that using the bike requires less and less effort with time when you familiarise yourself with it. If you begin by using too little muscle to handle it (as I did) there is a possibility that you will drop it (as I did) someday when you stop. After I had to pick up 250kg from the tarmac (full tank + bag) I realised that it will require some power to handle. Fortunately only one lever snapped that time :) |
