1985 was the last model year of the FXEF. 1984 was the last model year with a shovelhead (1985 was the evolution).

Who knows what was done as far as "titled" year vs. actual manufacture... mine is definately titled as a 1979, but manufactured in 1978. I suspect that 1981 titled bikes would have been actually build from late 1980 through at least the first few months of 1981.
